At Superior Mine Training, we provide the 80 Hour Apprentice Miner (New Miner) Certification Course. This certification will enable you to enter the coal industry in any state and will not restrict your employment opportunities.
Our instructor, Rick Harris, has over 34 years of experience and has been the Superintendent of 4 mines for Consol Energy including McElroy, Shoemaker, Humphrey and Ohio #11. He will use his expertise to best prepare you to begin your career in the mining industry. In addition to the basic class requirements, students will receive instruction on how to successfully find employment. Rick will review how to fill out a resume, how to take an interview, the questions that will be asked during an interview and the answers that should be given. He will also review all the employment opportunities in the tristate area and how to apply to each one.
